Eco-consciousness

I love nature and if we want to preserve it, we should be mindful of our environmental impact. This is why I find sustainability important.

Sustainable consumption and production is about doing more and better with less.

I am mindful of the materials I use, and I reuse and recycle when possible. For backpacks I use imitation leather made from recycled plastic bottles. Its durable and environmentally friendly. I recycle jeans from old pants, and I use them for linings and small accessories. For example, I made this dog toy you can see on the pictures below. For masks and small products, I recycle leftover fabric cut-offs. Those would otherwise be discarded, but I like to give them another chance.

Most of the products I make are made-to-order which means there is no waste or having to discard unsold items.

Sustainable Development

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. The SDGs are intended to be achieved by the year 2030.

One of the goals, Sustainable Development Goal 12, addresses sustainable consumption and production patterns, where we should strive to reduce waste and adopt more sustainable production and consumption practices.

SDG 12 challenges the entire fashion industry to come together to think about innovative solutions. This includes circular fashion of reusing and remaking.
